Welcome to the Restless Natives. I’m thrilled that you stopped by.

Here on the reservation, you will find a great deal of wit, wisdom, and encouragement in the stories of a mother with 4 braves (ages 22, 18, 13, and 5) and one stalwart, faithful, and very wise chief.

Mischief and misdemeanors abound. So do love and grace. Pull up a chair. Listen in.

My mission? Encouraging the world, one laugh at a time. Starting with you.

If you give a mouse a basket...

...he'll burrow in and stay awhile! With the fall chill in the air, a basket of hot towels fresh out of the dryer is the perfect place for a small mouse to hunker down. He huddled in there for quite awhile, just reveling in the warmth.

This, after blowing through a PBJ and a cantaloupe-flavored yogurt (ick!) for his lunch. Full tummy - check. Warm nest - check. Nap? Coming right up.

"Wisdom"

From "God Calling," the delightful little 1930s devotional book I ran across recently at the coffee house, comes the reading for yesterday, September 30.

"As thy days, so shall thy strength be." Deut. 33:25

"I have promised that for every day you live, the strength shall be given you. Do not fear.

"Face each difficulty, sure that the wisdom and strength will be given you for it. Claim it.

"Rely on Me to keep My promise about this. In My universe, for every task I give one of My children, there is set aside all that is necessary for its performance. So why fear? So why doubt?"

Now, to live like I really believe this. Therein lies the rub.
