Welcome to the Restless Natives. I’m thrilled that you stopped by.

Here on the reservation, you will find a great deal of wit, wisdom, and encouragement in the stories of a mother with 4 braves (ages 22, 18, 13, and 5) and one stalwart, faithful, and very wise chief.

Mischief and misdemeanors abound. So do love and grace. Pull up a chair. Listen in.

My mission? Encouraging the world, one laugh at a time. Starting with you.

And stay tuned for the brand-new website that's in the works even as we speak! I can't wait to unveil it for you.

And the winner is...

A big, heartfelt "thank you!" to all of you who stopped by and entered your names in the drawing for the wonderful, new magazine, "Cooking & Such:  Adventures in Plain Living."  I'm happy to announce that the winner is Barb Snyder!  Barb, I will email you privately to get your information.  You will love it.  I promise.

As you know, earlier this week I had the pleasure of sitting down with Suzanne Woods Fisher and recording a one-hour interview by phone.  The glad and happy news for those of you who didn't win is this:  you still have a chance!

We're giving away one more subscription for "Cooking & Such" over on the Toginet website, so get yourselves on over there right quick and leave a comment to be entered in that drawing before it closes out.  While you're there, listen in as The Lively One dishes up a - well, lively hour of encouragement and entertainment for the listeners of "Amish Wisdom."  It's been archived and is ready go to.

While the interview with Suzanne was a highlight of the week, so was College Kid's visit over the weekend when he joined us for Sunday lunch to celebrate his father's birthday.  There was laughter and merriment (what else?) around the table again, not to mention a good, old-fashioned NASCAR-style chase around said table, much to Mama and Little's delight.

It was a blessing to hear his voice (he's bass, too), to kiss his cheek and hug his neck before sending him back over to Bethel College.  Is it any wonder that this mama's feeling blessed?

And now, you - what's your highlight for the week?  Talk to me...

Note:  Today's winner was drawn - well, randomly, at random.org.  Stick around.  You never know when another giveaway will break out.

Oh my goodness! What a huge surprise to be the winner! Obviously, this is a highlight of my week! I can't wait until the March issue comes out!

I'm so happy for the exciting week you've had. I just know there is more excitement down the road for you!

Smiling and thanking you,
Barb

I can almost "feel" your blessing radiating off your post!

I believe mine is coming tonight in the form of our youngest daughter and her family - hubby & four of our grandchildren. So looking forward to it - even though it will be short. I have bedrooms cleaned, baked oatmeal made for breakfast, and 2 pans of lasagna ready to throw into the oven....

Did I mention the stranger who stopped to rave about my well-behaved boys? It even tops the chocolate cake from last night (eaten at at an actual restaurant) AND beating my husband's high score on a favorite puzzle game. :)
